X61s Hot to touch

#1 Post by TongiB » Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:04 am

Me again,

I posted an issue regarding battery gauge reset and I forgot to mention, that the notebook gets hotter than an thing that's really hot! I've seen some various posts on this and some mention a Middleton BIOS upgrade. Will that sort the problem? If so, can someone point me to the download, as all I'm seeing is chatter about it without a link to the download.

Obliged beyond words.....

And afterwards swap out the wifi-card for an Intel 6200 with bracket for much cooler running.

That should do the trick, if not then you may need to put some new thermal paste if its really hot near the CPU.
Good luck, the wifi card does make a difference.
