Wifi driver for X61s and Win 7

I bought a used X61s with Win XP a year ago. Now I have installed Win 7 as a dual boot. Most things seems to work well, but not the wifi. When I boot into XP wifi works fine so I know there is no hardware issue. The wifi card is 4965AGN. Now the driver is 13.4.0.139, but it does not work.
I have downloaded and installed several different drivers from Lenovo's website, but still no go.
When I check device manager for this card it says "This device is working properly", but when I click the 'wifi icon' in the 'tray' it is greyed out with a message of 'no connections available'. When I run the troubleshooter it comes back with a message that 'There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network'.
Could someone with a working Win 7 setup on a similar X61s please tell me what driver you use?

In my X61s with W7-Pro 32-bit I applied Middleton's BIOS.
I was using a half-size Intel 6200N wifi card with a half-size bracket.
I used standard drivers from Intel:

Thanks for replying. I am afraid my setup is to different for any similarities. I am on 7NET25WW Bios (1.06), have the 64-bit Win 7 and the Intel 4965AGN wifi card.
Is there anyone else here with such a combination?

Hi Lars. I had an x61s that I worked on ~6 months ago. I can think of two possible solutions.
a) If you do not mind letting Windows Update find it for you it may work. Have you looked at your 'Optional' updates from Windows Updates? If this does not work then move on to my next possible solution.
b) BIOS 1.03 is a very old version! For reference BIOS 1.02 is the very first BIOS for the x61s.
*Support for W7 was added in BIOS 2.2. If you are comfortable doing a BIOS update I would download the bootable CD version of the latest BIOS from Lenovo or the Middleton BIOS for unrestricted wifi card usage. Also the half-size card that RBS mentioned should reduce the heat that the Intel 4965AGN will generate. The heat I have felt from experience

Yup, your BIOS is WAY out-of-date!
Yours is 1.06, current is
2.22 (that is
15 updates later)!!!
Get Middleton's X61/X61s BIOS (first on the list) here:

I will look into updating the Bios. But actually I don't think my problems are with the Bios since everything works fine when I boot this machine to Win XP. Same Bios obviously.
Anyway, I did find a workable suggestion to fixing my problem here;

The solution was to uninstall Zonealarm (free version). As soon as I had done that the wifi kicked in and is now working fine. It was not a driver issue at all. A pity that Windows trouble shooter only came up with that lame analysis.
