Probably asking it in a wrong place as none of the X6x models came with Bluetooth 4.0 Daughter Card - only X2xx modes did afaik...
Anyway could anyone please confirm if they support Low Energy (BLE) mode or can only work in classic (old) mode? I'll upgrade my X61s to it knowing that I'll be able to use my BLE mouse with it.
Thanks in advance!

> Do not have any Low Energy devices to check, but my X61s with 60Y3303 does show "Bluetooth LE Enumerator" in the Device Manager.
Thank you: looks like it's supported and I'll give one a try then. Those Bluetooth LE mice are perfect: they last over a year with a single AA battery (vs less than a week for non-LE ones).
My X61 is 2.4GHz 8Gb ram with the bluetooth light on the light indicator row on the bottom of the display just above the power on/off button.
The driver for the oem/internal Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate is dated year 2006.
Are you saying that I can update the internal bluetooth with a "Daughter card?"
I installed an Intel AC 7260 Dual Band wifi card with bluetooth and was wondering which bluetooth I am using Thinkpad oem bluetooth or AC card.
So, I went into Device Manager and found this:
Bluetooth > the Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate is enabled.
Network Adapters > Intel Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 > Advanced > Bluetooth(R) (AMP) is disabled.
So, I disabled the Thinkpad Bluetooth.
And enabled the AC bluetooth.
And restarted the machine.
And the result was that Windows 10 Settings > Bluetooth and other devices could not locate the AC bluetooth. So I could not direct the audio to bluetooth, so no bluetooth transmission.
Now I have re-enabled the Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate and left the AC bluetooth also enabled.
And everything works as before.
I looked at the BIOS settings to see if I could do something to "select" the bluetooth on the Intel AC card, but I did not see that option.
I wonder if BIOS would see the bluetooth on the Intel AC card if I physically removed the oem/internal Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate card. I may try that and report back.
Please let us know if we can update the bluetooth card in in our X61 laptops with a more current version.
BTW, I am guessing that this is what my Thinkpad X61 laptop's bluetooth card looks like:
