My spare X61T may be dying... :(

Symptoms:
1. Indicator LEDs except Wifi and Bluetooth don't work anymore. Power button on the LCD still works, not sure about the Tablet-related buttons.

2. The thinkpad-acpi kernel module (I'm running Debian Testing) reports that access to the EC (embedded controller) is misbehaving, and falls back to ACPI TMPx access mode.
3. As a result of #2, I've lost thinkpad-specific sensor readings, including fan speed. Coretemp and standard ACPI-based temp sensors appear to be working.

4. The fan doesn't appear to be spinning even when the temps are high. since this is a low-voltage processor, it's not that critical...
5. Some device wants some I/O addresses already claimed by the LPC bridge (part of the ICH southbridge) The message before the error on dmesg mentions the SMBUS controller.

The laptop remains usable though-- I'm actually typing this post on this machine.
I'll try to investigate deeper, but since it's just a spare/extra machine, it might be better to simply dismantle it and use the remaining parts.

OR, install another OS.

If you can check internal voltages, swap battery as well if its unusually warm under charging.
