Buying an SSD for the x60

Hello,
A couple of weeks back, I brought an X60 from ebay as a backup travel computer. And I got lucky as I got an almost pristine thinkpad (hardrive and battery not included) and a dock for ~ 60 bucks.
Back to my question, whats a good ssd for the device( considering that it is limited by a SATA I interface)? I am inclined on buying a Samsung 840 EVO 120g, but it seems like a overkill to me.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Any Samsung SSD -except the 840 EVO- will do fine.
Or drives from other well-known brands like Micron, Crucial, Plextor, Intel.
Basically, get a name-brand SSD at the cheapest price you can afford.

It's the latency, not the throughput, that makes SSDs fast. The latency for all SSDs is very low. Whether it's SATA I, II or III doesn't make much of a practical difference for most uses. The quickest machine I've ever had was my SATA I R60e running Linux. Despite the fact is was six plus years old, it booted in like seven seconds and was very snappy.
If you need speed and space, the WD Black² might be worth a look. It's a 120GB SSD and 1TB 5400RPM hard drive rolled into one 9.5mm package, which would fit into the X60.

.
Hmm, makes sense. I don't think I transfer a lot of data between the computer and disk on a regular basis. Video editing maybe? But not on this baby
Thanks!

If I were shopping for a small SSD right now, this would be my pick:
