x61s: which fansink replacement part do I need?

Hi all,

since a few months the fan of my x61s started making a lot of noise at irregular intervals and without any consistent pattern, i.e. sometimes the noise starts and goes on forever, some other times is comes and goes and some other times it doesn't appear at all.

So I decided to be brave enough and replace the fansink. However, I can't figure out which exactly fansink I need to order. The service manual (page 96) has two different pictures of fansinks depending if the computer comes with an LV or an NV processor.

Does anyone know how to I figure out which type of processor I have? Here are some more info which might be of help:

Model Type: 7669-27G
OS: Debian
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU L7300 @ 1.40GHz

I would also very much appreciate if anyone could share a link where to look for the replacement part.

Thanks

I had an x61s for a fairly short-time so I am not 100% sure. Have you tried looking through the archive posts here? There could be some useful and specific information there. Here is a link for the search. Good luck.

You need the Low Voltage fan 41V9748, available e.g. on eBay, look for: (ibm, lenovo) 41V9748.
