X61 Screen

Hi all,

i have a X61 lenovo with a cracked screen, so was just wondering will only a 12.1 x61 screen fit or will other models fit also and if so which ones?

will a X40 fit?

The X60/X61 uses standard panels. So there are other options, too. The only obstacle might be the EDID. However, it has been reported that nc4010 panels will work within the X60/X61 ootb.

I don't think there's an EDID check involved. I've succeeded in replacing X60/61 displays with panels from Dell D400 and D410 laptops. It's been done before, there are much older threads that discussed replacing the LCD on an X60/61.

As for the X40/X41, the HMM lists two LCD FRUs, with corresponding LCD cable assemblies.
One of them, the Samsung LTN121XA-L01, is not compatible with the X60.

The other one, IDTech AGX02C, appears to be compatible.
I'm saying "appears to be compatible" because I checked the datasheet and the pinout is correct, but I don't have an actual AGX02C to confirm it.
