I need the Thinkpad X61 Tablet XP Rescue and Recovery Startup Disc
Hello I was wondering if someone who has the x61 tablet recovery discs for XP tablet (44Y2181) would be so kind as to upload the first disc i.e. the Start-up Rescue and Recovery Boot disc that goes into the rescue and recovery environment. I have the recovery discs but have lost and am missing the Start-up boot disc and I don't want to buy and pay for the whole set when I just need the first disc. The disc image file would probably not be larger than 600 mb so it wouldn't be too big of an upload. If anybody has this and is willing to oblige, thank you.

If anyone can confirm it is compatible with/the same as the one use for the the T61p, I do have that I can provide for you (as an .iso in Google Drive). It's 543 MB.

Thank you but I had the startup disc for the T61 and tried to use it for the x61 tablet. After the recovery loading is complete and it is about to perform the recovery it fails and states that some file is missing. So it will not work.theterminator93 wrote:If anyone can confirm it is compatible with/the same as the one use for the the T61p, I do have that I can provide for you (as an .iso in Google Drive). The only other startup disc that may work would be the XP tablet 2005 one for the X60 Tablet or perhaps the one for the X200 Tablet. The recovery process can be pretty picky when it comes to using the right discs.
If anyone else might have this disc I have some other thinkpad discs that I would be willing to trade "online" for this particular startup disc. I have the ones for the T43 and the T400 T500. I will make a post in the marketplace for this though.

[Later: Err...I didn't realize I was replying to a several week old post. If you still need this disk, Thinkpad Maniac, then send me a PM.]
Hey, Thinkpad Maniac,
I've got the full set of X60 Tablet XP 2005 disks, including Disk 1 of 1 Rescue and Recovery or Emergency Disk and Disks 1-6 XP disks. I've got original silkscreened OEM versions as well as burned versions. I'll send you a PM with further options - for free. Worst case, I'm in Toronto, and you could borrow the physical disks if you really need to.
I can't speak to whether they will work with X61 Tablet or not. I never installed XP on my X61's.
Phil.
