I'm glad it's solved. I just wish I didn't spend all day working on this.

Problem found. Still looking for solution.
It turns out something has changed in Ubuntu from 14.04 to 14.04.2 and has broken Wacom input. I'm not sure what changed, or how to fix it, but this is definitely the problem. I booted 14.04 from a USB drive and the Wacom input works flawlessly. My particular issue arose when switching machines I did a clean install of 14.04.2
Maybe this should be moved to the Linux section now?

My X60T has been working flawlessly for the last few years, but has become a bit sluggish for some tasks, so I bought an X61T. The X60T has the SXGA+ display and the X61T has the 1.8ghz x64bit CPU. Between the two of them I figured I could build a pretty decent machine.
The LCD displays and digitizers worked properly on both machines before swapping parts, but now both LCDs display but neither digitizer is working. I run Ubuntu 14.04 and it says "No tablet detected" for both machines now.
I have tried both of the following from each machine:
- -LCDs
-ribbon cables that plug in behind the LCDs
-inverters
-Power button/LED boards
-ribbon cable connecting the LED board to the inverter
-the board that connects the Motherboard to the LCD cable
In older versions of Ubuntu it was necessary to install wacom packages, but I believe this is no longer the case. Maybe I'm wrong?
I'm not sure what's left to try. What am I missing?
This is quite frustrating. The wife keeps telling me, "Sell it all and buy a new machine already!"[/strike]
