I just had a little e-mail chain with Jacky, the seller in Shenzen who is putting together the order. He will try flashing my 60Hz EDID to the HV121P01-100 panel, and if it all goes well it would be great to have the option generally available.

More than ready! :) It seems all units are scheduled to ship between 15th and 17-18th of September, by DHL (reddit). So, hopefully, we'll get a review at the end of September :)

There was a slight delay from shipping the first of this month by two weeks, as all orders at the factory (?) were booked. I think they have already sent the order to build and are currently waiting for it to complete.

Im still waiting.

People in China have already installed it, and it seems the flaws of the first run have been corrected.

Even the members of 51nb are getting a bit impatient, so at least it isn't just us foreign buyers feeling antsy. HOPE and others are reassuring them to be patient, that slowly but surely they'll all get their orders fulfilled.

edit: now they're starting to take orders for the third batch of X62. Starting next week. I think the second batch will ship soon for the rest of us.

See http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Int ... o-3_00-GHz
It says 'up to 16gb of DDR3L 1333/1600, LPDDR3 1333/1600'.

My forwarding account received a package too! I just had them ship it out.

However, after adding up all the fees plus the cost of the item plus the cost of shipping, it actually got fairly expensive. I believe the grand total I paid was around $538...and we still need RAM.

PS: The thread on 51nb says the board supports up to 32GB RAM ("Memory: Maximum support 32g DDR3 / DDR3L (both tests, but can not completely rule out compatibility issues) (16GX2 Micron tested)"). Is that the same as the current X61's only officially supporting 4GB but able to run with 8?

Got mine today. Its up and running without any major problems. Amazing and fantastic !!

Fit is not perfect but quite acceptable.

Cable between the two boards is a bit too long and needs to be folded.

Windows 10 installs smoothly. The speaker doesn't work with the default driver and the SD-cardreader driver is not found.
These drivers seem to work for me:

SD-CardReader:

Does the motherboard have M2 slot for SSD?

Pictures please!

And maybe a little update for the specs as well?

For instance what chip was actually installed? What version of i7?

CPU is i7-5500u. Machine runs very cool, but fan is more active than before. TPfancontrol doesnt work.

The second interface is not M2 but mSata. So, sadly my WWAN Card has to go for now.

Works fine with Corsair Vengeance DDR3L 1866, 16GB.

Some keys are dead on European keyboards (tested with UK and danish).
They are working on a bios update to fix this and optimize fan speed.

I havent tried mDP and hdmi yet, but so far everything seems solid.

Works with SXGA screen

Battery life is better than before, but not substantially.
Battery indicator is not really working and not all info is visible to the OS.

BTW: The third production is for sale now. They use an i7-ES cpu makes the board quite a bit cheaper.

ES = Engineering Sample.
Doesn't sound too promising...

Speaking of RAM, will RAM from an X201 work in here?

From lurking around the 51NB forums, I understand the mSATA slot is SATA III.

I just performed a simple battery rundown test.
Screen brightness 30%, wifi/bt off. Looping a FHD video using win10 movie player.

It lasted for 7:05 with my three year old 8-cell battery, which is probabaly quite worn.

Not so impressive comparing it to the new X2x0,'s, but it's at least a double up from the X61s.
