How recovery WinXP from ISO images?

I have X61 without service partition. I do not have a docking station but have recovery set CD and make ISO images of this discs. First disc 1 of 1 is Rescue and Recovery 4.00.1114 but when I try to boot in a virtual machine on some computers then machine reset I test VMware Workstation 8, MS VPC 2007. I test also 1 of 1 disc from X60 recovery set - Rescue and Recovery 3.10.1022 and this always boot properly but while preparing HDD I have error that missing some files:

Probably the idea is that RnR3 uses Z: letter for the optical drive but RnR4 use D: letter
It is interesting that RnR4 work in VMware Workstation 8 on host X61 WinXP x64:

Also test other PC - host Gigabyte GA-K8NE with WinXP x86 and on this PC RnR4 on VMware 8 reset machine but on MS VPC 2007 work
What it depends on whether RnR4 work? Why RnR4 reset virtual machine on some PC?
