I'm seeing a 240 GB SSD, the OCZ ARC 100 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC for about $60.
Price seems to good to be true, has anyone done the research are these decent SSDs?
They are now a Toshiba company and are stated to be built in Toshiba's 19 nm NAND
technology. Controller is stated as: OCZ Barefoot 3 M10 Controller
I don't need the fastest speed but I do want good reliability.

I think people miss the big picture when discussing what SSD to buy, getting overly focused on specs and performance. The fact remains all SSDs are fast and failure rates are low, regardless of the brand. Would I buy a OCZ SSD? Absolutely, I've had eight or nine OCZ SSDs over the years and only one failed. In fact, I've got two 90GB OCZ Agility IIs in from 2010, got a great deal, in PCs at home that are humming along just fine. The fact that OCZ is now owned by Toshiba should ameliorate any fears of them being a fly by night operation like they used to be. As always, you should back up anything you can't afford to lose, cause any drive can fail.

The ARC 100 doesn't have good idle power consumption according to Anandtech, which is not ideal for laptops.

Good point about the power consumption, just noticed that there are
quite a few at or near that price point. I've been hearing good things
about the SanDisk. I've used two that are trouble free.

As far as them all being good we've gone through some very bad times
with SSDs, especially those that used Sandforce controllers.

Beware of SanDisk Ultra II with TLC NAND. Extreme Pro is the way to go.

Crucial MX100 - if you can locate one - is my favourite inexpensive drive of the previous generation and I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.
