X61T mobo into X60T chassis.

So here's the deal. Back before I lost my mind at the end of 2013 I acquired a working X60 Tablet (without the base) with a known defect of the touchscreen not working for a nominal cost. I then forgot about this Thinkpad and while cleaning out the closet I found it again. I don't have a specific use for it but was compelled to buy a battery for it and am contemplating buying an X61T mobo from Ebay and doing an upgrade (mobo cost is literally ten dollars). Forgetting about the waste of money for a second, can an X61T mobo be swapped into an X60T chassis and if so, is this worth doing at all?

Thanks

I think it's doable, I never did it myself but I recall reading similar threads here.

It would make sense tough, a X61T will support up to 8GB of RAM instead of 3GB for the X60T (but you need DDR2-RAM, which is more expensive). It will also support SATA-II speeds via middleton BIOS, which is handy if you plant to use an SSD.

IT's a perfect fit.
The best advantage that a X61 has over X60t is the maximum RAM supported
