Even with BIOS+EC update installed the system isn't reporting it. I'll report back in a few hours.
Meanwhile, the EC update did indeed fix the fan problem… a bit too well. The aftermarket X200 fan I installed doesn't run at all until I hit 100°C, but it sounds like it's trying (and failing) to start earlier (constant clicking sound coming from it). Can someone with the stock fan see whether the fan is supposed to be running in the 60-70°C range? (With latest EC patch, without it never even gets that warm.)
Edit: Battery life estimate is around 5-6h, as before the updates. Translates into ~12W power draw. Pretty high still, but that's with a [censored] USB wifi dongle (still haven't replaced the broken internal antennae) and CCFL backlight.
