X61 4-cell battery

I've got an OEM X61 4-cell battery that won't charge, the LED just flashes. I've never been happy with the 3rd party knockoff ones in that size, and I can't find any genuine 4-cell batteries. Do people typically refurbish these themselves? My genuine 8-cell battery has been good, but I'd prefer the smaller size on my X62.
