Nope, there wasn't and isn't but I think someone was suggesting upgrading the CPU. They must think the CPU would be compatible with the motherboard.

Should be on all laptops these days as Intel no longer offers socketed CPUs for laptops.

Heating and wattage are concerns. There is a thread on the Chinese forum about the 5557u swap but no confirmation of someone actually reporting back on a success story with a swap.

I think a X62 would be a really useful form factor for my own application, but I am used to using quadro dedicated graphics (FX 880M), so I'm wondering how the HD 5500 fares?

I had an Intel HD 3000 (T420s) and it wasn't quite powerful enough for my needs.
