Possible 4th batch of x62's
Hope wrote there could be a 4th batch IF there is demand.
Their 3rd batch appears to have had about 20 boards.
I will write Hope to ask how many boards would need to be ordered for him to make more.
How many people would be interested in buying boards, for sale IN EUROPE?

If Israel fits inside the Europe list, then why not. Specs and price? I'd buy a mobo only as I already have (and currently posting from ) my own unit.jaspen-meyer wrote:Hope wrote there could be a 4th batch IF there is demand.

Re: Possible 4th batch of x62's
are you sure about i7 for the fourth batch? I have been emailing with Jacky for the past few days and will be ordering three of the 4th batch motherboards. I asked specifically about i7 and he said they were all i5-ES, just like the third batch complete I just received a few days agoquintus wrote:Yup, the 4th batch of X62 is announced by HOPE (of 51NB).

I remember there was an option for an i7 when I bought my i5. Are you sayings that they got rid of the i7's that eventually shipped?aarong wrote:are you sure about i7 for the fourth batch? I asked Jacky again, and yes, i7 is an available option on the 4th batch. quite a bit more expensive, however.ctoph0 wrote:I remember there was an option for an i7 when I bought my i5. Are you sayings that they got rid of the i7's that eventually shipped?aarong wrote:

I am not doing a group order as I don't have a reliable way to get the boards.wujstefan wrote:Jesse: count me in

Re: Possible 4th batch of x62's
I have access to two boards from a 4th batch. Haven't tried the audio yet, but first thing I noticed about the boards is that the CMOS connector is now in a much better spot (near the connector for the daugherboard so it can rest in the gap between the two boards instead of trying to squeeze it in the mini pci area.
I transplanted one board into a X61T. I didn't bother trying to retain tablet functionality -- I just wanted it to work like a tablet.
Two notes notes I have about installing a X62 board in a X61T.
1) make sure you have a X62s fan (the X61T uses a X61s fan). Also, you need to slice down the bezel a bit near the usb3 port on the left side of the laptop (side with the fan).
2) the SATA and power board that plugs into the motherboard will sit a bit further back, so your SATA drive will be restricted from plugging in since the port will be receded further into the body. It wasn't an issue for me because I was going to use a M2 plugged into a 2.5 sata board, which isn't affected. If you need to fit a 2.5" drive, you'll need to cut down part of the case where the drive lines up with the SATA connector or modify the power board to extend further out.
