X60T - 1 DIMM slot dead
Hi,
one slot on my X60T appears not functioning correctly - with any RAM in it, laptop produces 4 short beeps (motherboard failure). The other slot works perfectly fine.
I checked the slot for any cold solder joints and couldn't find any, I also cleaned the slot with pure ethanol - still the same thing.
Any suggestion what should I try next?

The 10-second salute, perhaps? Remove battery and charger, press and hold power button for 10 seconds.

Try closer to 30, usually works more reliably if done for 30 thab 10.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Not much you can do at this point, I'm afraid. It could be anything, like a bad solder joint on the RAM slot, failed electronic component (like a capacitor) somewhere between the RAM slot and the northbridge, or even a bad solder joint on the northbridge chip itself.
