Need replacement display for x61 (Notebook NOT Tablet)

#1 Post by zerotetration » Sun Aug 12, 2018 1:21 pm

Hello,

I need a replacement display for my X61 notebook. The old one appears to be dying. I know the display is 12.1" diagonal and 1024x768. What I want to know is what are the original Samsung / Toshiba / Philips part numbers for the display panel so I can search for it efficiently on eBay / Amazon. Google is not being very helpful in this regard.

Thanks

Here's a good reference: http://thinkwiki.org/wiki/TFT_display

Code: Select all

FRU Brand Model used in Thinkpad model
42T0343 CMO N121X5-L06	X60, X60s
13N7096 Samsung LTN121XJ-L07	X60, X60s
13N7094 42T0435	BOE-Hydis	HT121X01-101	X32, X60, X60s
It's possible that the screens from the X40 and X41 are compatible, but I don't have an X40 to verify. I'm basing this from the datasheet for the IAXG02C (used in the X40/41), which specifies the same LCD connector and pinout as the LTN121XJ-L07.

I've also tested a Samsung LTN121XJ-L02 (from a Dell Latitude D400) on an X60. It works, but the fit is a bit tight, as the L02 has a bit more metal in the upper frame.

axur-delmeria: Would a screen from a X61s work? I think I have a old X61s which I am keeping for parts which I could sell to the OP for whatever is a reasonable price plus shipping.

Thanks for the information folks. I will save this for future reference. It seems that a little bit of Windex got under the glass in the screen after I cleaned it after doing other work inside the laptop. So the screen is working fine now that the fluid completely dried out.

Only if it's not the Ultralight screen. That one requires an entirely different lid assembly (with cables and all), but that lid assembly can be installed into regular X60/61 models.
