X61s stuck in Dock

#1 Post by raket » Fri Jan 04, 2019 1:23 am

I recently got hold of a Thinkpad X61s with L7500 and 4gb ram, a ssd for 10 eur.

Mounted it in the old Thinkdock, now it won't leave it.

Anyone have any ideas to fix it? i might need to swap the drive and install wwan...

Best Regards,
raket

is the ejector pull arm thing on the left side stuck? even if so, you might be able shimmy the laptop out (just tried mine to see).
Or Is the key lock on the right side in the locked position?

The ejector arm doesn't do anything, the Dock has been sitting in for years without usage...

hmm.. ok i will give it a try.

It's a very good machine, throttles at 1.2ghz and never above 53c which is the best machine i ever had

Simple question: do you still have the key for that dock?
If so, check it is unlocked before you try to wiggle the X61 off the dock.
If not, you'll probably have to use a big drill to disable the keylock.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

I never had any key, nor did i ever lock it, but that might be the issue!
