X61s and sata-2

#1 Post by hopgarden53 » Mon Mar 30, 2020 4:15 pm

Is there any problems with X61s + Middleton bios and Ultra Base?

From https://thinkpad-forum.de/threads/22366 ... 3%BCrzt-ab:
"But only if no UltraBase with CD / DVD drive is used. That was also the reason why the X61 models were delivered with SATA-1 from the factory ... they wanted to prevent complaints."

Not that I'm aware of.

BTW, all R/T/X 61 series only sported SATA I from the factory so I don't quite understand where the logic of "preventing complaints" comes from in regards to Ultrabase...

Besides, the Ultrabase X6 has an IDE port for the optical drive, not SATA, so I don't get it at all.
