Project X61: upgraded heatsink

#1 Post by Kingair » Fri Jun 26, 2020 4:37 pm

Been working on it for a long time but it's almost finished although let's still call it a prototype
I'm gonna test drive it in one of my X61 for a while and see what additional cooling we get vs the stock one
I'll post the results when all testing is done

The thermal conductivity area is improved
And it's not just 'black' paint

Powder coated? Or is it high-temperature spray paint? And what are those brass parts where the scres should be in? I'm actually interested in any and all forms of heatsink mods.

The heatsink itself looks like it's from an X60 rather than an X61.

It's a prototype but actually in it's last stage
I'm gonna test drive it in one of my x61 T7300 and X61 T9300 and see what results we get
I'll post some numbers here
