USB3.0 ExpressCard34 + adapter in X60s/X61s vs USB2.0

Hi All,

Will I get any higher speed (e.g. with an external USB3.0 drive that is not a bottleneck) with one of these USB3.0 cards in an ExpressCard34-CardBus adapter plugged into the CardBus slot of X60s/X61s compared to their native USB2.0 ports?

My research so far suggests that I won't as ExpressCard34-CardBus conversion is capped at USB2.0 speed for some reason (unsure by nature or just in those adapters)... or not?

ExpressCard-CardBus is indeed capped to USB 2.0, because that's the protocol these adapters use.

An alternative would be a PCIe to PCI bridge (which would be capped at like 133MB/s theoretically), but these chips are much more complicated and I am not aware of any ExpressCard-CardBus adapters utilizing them.
