IBM X60s SD Card problem

#1 Post by norrinraddhr » Sun Jun 26, 2022 12:15 pm

Hi,
I need your help about some strange problem that I never had with SD Card reader. About few months I made clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x86 SP1 on my IBM X60s, I installed all important drivers and I'm noticed thet the SD card reader doesn't work. I have looked the driver is installed but I can't open the micro SDHC card 8GB. I used this slot for SDHC 16GB micro Card many years without problem and with different SDHC card too, and the CF Card from my Nikon DSLR Camera, now the CF Card 4GB doesn't work at all, the micro SDHC Card 8GB only shows the SD icon card, I hear the sound that the card is seen, but I can not open a folder, never had a similar problem. I put some screenshots down... Know maybe someone what can be the problem here?

It could be

1. dirt or corrosion on the contacts of the SD card slot.

2. Bad driver

3. Something else entirely

Hi,
found this article before I ask here, It's usufull, but not for me. The issue is solved, the problem was in micro SD card adapter, have tryed another five that I have and everyone working except this one. Tried with 64GB SDHC micro card, works too.

The issue with CF card 4GB form my Nikon DSLR Camera was in broken edge on card, I think when I put the card in IBM SD card slot there is no good contact, this is the reason for not working, tried another 32GB CF card and works perfectly, in Nikon works this 4GB CF card without problem.

So, it was a two problems at once and that confused me a lot. :)

For some reason, none of the image links work (they just time out). :(
