Very interesting reading with regards to cpu types.
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/me.nsf/Le ... cntry=UK-L
The X60 will have the following cpu choices:
Duo T2400, Duo T2300 and Solo T1300
While the X60s will have the following:
Duo L2400 and Duo L2300
It also lists some weight for the units
X60: Travel weight
1.43kg (4-cell cylindrical)
1.64kg (8-cell cylindrical)
X60s: Travel weight
12.1” XGA
1.22kg (4-cell prismatic)
1.27kg (4-cell cylindrical)
1.48kg (8-cell cylindrical)
12.1” UltraLight XGA
1.31kg (4-cell prismatic)
1.36kg (4-cell cylindrical)
1.57kg (8-cell cylindrical)
It even says you can use 7200rpm 100GB drives in it... *omg*

12.1” UltraLight XGA
Is there a brighter screen?

I think so... Since it weighs more than the non Ultra Light models.

I haven't read much about this "UltraLight" screen, anyone have any information about it?
Does it have a contrast coating that makes it all but unusable if you use it in a well lit room?

Well it’s heavier, so maybe... since those glossy panels weigh more.
On the other hand, that’s so not IBM, so therefore I think it’s more likely that it will have more backlights. (4 instead of 2)

What is a "prismatic" battery? What is its part number?
I could find two 4-cell batteries:
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/ ... p/_40Y6999
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/ ... p/_40Y7001
Is P/N 40Y6999 (labelled "4 Cell Slim Line Battery") the prismatic battery, while P/N 40Y7001 ("4 Cell Enhanced Capacity Battery") is the cylindrical one? The above mentioned links give exactly the same dimension/weight values for both batteries, so I guess they must be wrong. The batteries are described as follows:
"The 4 Cell Slim Line battery conforms to exact shape (footprint) of the Thinkpad X60 Series notebook, the 4 Cell Enhanced Capacity battery provides longer computing time than the Slim Line battery, but is larger and extends beyond the backside of the notebook."

Prismatic and cylindrical refer to the actual physical shape of the lion battery cells inside of the battery. Prismatic cells are rectangular prisms, while cyndrical cells are cylinders
