It is possible for the X60s to use it's LCD display and an external display to show an extended desktop area?

It's be nice if it was possible since I do software development and 1024x768 is too small for regular use in the office. If it could do 1280x1024 or higher on an external monitor and also have more desktop area on the lcd display, that's be great.

Nevermind. I just tried it on my X22 and it's possible.

While on the subject, how do I get the taskbar onto the 2nd display?

You would have go to other programs. I personally use UltraMon. Very helpful for dual-screen setups. Its shareware though...

It's VERY EASY to get extended deskops on the X60.

To move the task bar.
1. Make sure it's not locked. (Right click on the task bar, and make sure that the lock option is not cheked.).
2. DRAG and DROP the taskbar from one monitor to the other.

That's it.

You may also like to go into display properties and set the primary monitor.

Lastly.
You can configure the Presentation Scheme (Fn + F7) to have an extended display.
The Presentation manager is a pretty useful tool to look at.
