Top-of-the-line X60s without Verizon?

I like the most expensive X60s listed on Lenovo's site, the 170469U for $2,499. However, I have no use for the Verizon adapter and am also not fond of the way it sticks out of the frame. Is it possible to get exactly the same model but without Verizon? I tried several configurations but some features of the 170469U always seem to be missing (hard drive, wireless adapter, RAM).

As far as i know, probably not. You might want to call Lenovo directly and talk to a rep about it...they're pretty helpful. You may be able to get a discount too if you ask about it.

It would be a handy thing to have because the rates might come down while you own the notebook. Furthermore, I think there is some sort of option for purchasing 24 hours for $15 if you need it in a pinch.
Moreover, it might help with the resale value of the unit.

I doubt it.
By the time you're ready to sell this in 2 years, there will probably be some better tech around.
However, I think this is a fantastic device, and I use the Verizon all the time.
The ThinkVantage Access Connections does a really good job of rolling from LAN to WLAN to WWAN as necessary.
