The layout is different coming from using and deploying T4x's at work. I got used to the layout and the position of the "\" key which I use all the time for "\\server1" and the like. The keyboard feels, less sturdy, and a bit cheap in my opinion but not bad considering the laptop's other amazing qualities. The keys sure do click alot
The biggest problem is the left click button. The left click makes this hideous noise when it springs back up. This doesn't happen to the two other buttons next to it! So I decide to call IBM and get a new keyboard, today it came in. It looks like this hideous noise is a feature since this brand new keyboard has the same problem!!!
I know there have been fixes for creaking palm rests in the past, so I tried popping off the button and placing tape with many attempts only to come up with nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it just me?
Please help it's driving me crazy and I've swaped my primary button to the right click, and by all means I'm no lefty!
UPDATE FIXED:
So I figured out the noise was coming from the releasing the button. I took out the keyboard and after more inspection I saw that if I didn't have something directly underneath it to apply pressure back it would make that awful noise. So I placed pieces of paper directly underneath the left click button (which if you look there is a some kind of spacing placed on purpose from the design of the notebook). That fixed it and I no longer have that awful sound. Thank heavens I don't have to pretend to be lefty anymore!
