Hello,
What do you think of this X60s with the 8Cell battery
(btw, is it really 1.6Kg including the 8cell? If so, It isn’t a upgrade from my X31

)
LENOVO ThinkPad X60s
Cpu: Intel Core Duo 1,66GHz
Ram: 512 MB
harddisk: 60 GB
Display: 12" XGA (1024x768)
optical drives: no
Graphics: 128 MB (Intel
Graphics Media Accelerator 950)
Fingerprint reader : no
Wireless LAN: yes - (802.11 a/b/g)
Bluetooth: no
OS: Win XP Professional
Herstellergarantie: 3 Jahre Bring-In, 1 year battery
8Cell Battery.
This al for 1550 euro.
Tough it doesn't have an fingerprint reader...
But I find the price a tad on the high side, what do you think is the resellers price? 1200 euro? 1300 euro?
I need to know
And if you think this configuration is any good (for instance, I don’t know which type of hdd is installed, tough I think its the default 5400rpm hitachi / samsung)

I bought mine which is basically the same as yours but only with fingerprint reader for 1719 euros. So I guess 1500 must be fine, let alone 1200-1300...

I don't use the fingerprint reader at all because I'm paranoid that I can't access it anymore
BTW, 1719 euros for my model (UK03QGE) was the cheapest on a price comparison website for that model. (4 weeks ago)

Oke thank you for your reply.
Tough 1200 to 1300 euro isn't how much they ask, but what I estimate that the purchase price for the seller is?
And I would like to know if that is correct.
(So if there are resellers on this board, please let me know

)

The guy at the shop I bought my X60s at said he makes only 50 EUR with selling it for (only) 1719,- EUR ... I was talking to him for hours because he got my old (completely broken) X40 in turn for replacing the 60gb HD with a 120gb HD for free

Oke,
But are you a student? Because I get an student discount, and ill expect they also get a discount when buying those laptops.
Since they need to make some profit of it.
I know this because they once told me the reseller price was like 1500 euros’ for a model that they sold on their website for 1850 euros’
(T42 CTO)
But thanks for your reply’s so far, they have been very helpful

Yes, I'm a student in Germany. But the company here selling the Thinkpads to students only has an X60s model with 4-cell battery for ~1600 and I wanted the 8-cell :)
If you can read German you could also have a look at those pages:
German student discounter selling Thinkpads:
http://www.nofost.de
German price comparison on X60s:
http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/?fs=x60s&in=&x=0&y=0 (with EU-wide prices also!)
Shop offering X60/s:
http://www.notebook-shop.de/index.php?s ... &group=397 (I bought mine here)
(As they are not part of an Employee Purchase Program I guess I can legally post those links here?)

I bought mine in Hungary. This is
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products. ... enDocument, which is about 1600 Euro at geizhals.at. If you live in Deutschland, you can order from Geizhals. This has the 4 cell battery too, but has builtin fingerprint reader and 80gb hdd. I bougth a 8 cell battery too, which had about 95 euro.
The thinkpad is about 1250 euro+tax (at the IBM/lenovo dealer( unfotunately you cannot buy there)).

They keep saying that the above listed model can't be sold under 1520 euro's ...
Is this price reasonable?
I think not... but I haven't bought one yet.. so maybe the studentprices are higher at other shops
