x6 Ultrabase: USB Problems

Often USB devices which are connected to the ultrabase are not usable (external display and LAN however work always). The USB devices work when they are connected directly to the x60s notebook.

Sometimes the 3rd or 4th reboot helps and these device work also when connected to the ultrabase.

Any idea? I guess I should return the ultrabase.

I'd suggest that you make sure that the laptop is fully docked into the ultrabase.
make sure the tabs in the front are grabbing the laptop, and then close the lid and push down firmly.

I suspect, however, that you are properly docked, and that something is broken.

well....

I also has this kind of bad ultrabase...

1. when X60s uses battery, then dock to ultrabase without power cord..--->sometimes USB doesnt work, most time can not find my optical drive.

2. when X60s already docked on the ultrabse, without a power cord, then turn on the power..-----> sometimes USB doesnt work, sometimes optical drive can not be found.

3. ok, finally, I connected with my AC adapter, one or twice, I can make both USB and optical drive be found and work.

therefore, I thought ultrabase has some power control problem, battery's power can not make the USB and drive work in sometimes.

I will contact with ezserv, see if I can exchange a new one...

Thanks for the replies. I sent back the ultrabase, hopefully the next one will work better.
