This should not be done anyway on a notebook, but I sold my desktop and still have not made a new one and I need my tv shows.
I would like to ask why it should not be done on a notebook. Logically there is no reason. Leaving your laptop running with the monitor turned off is no different than doing the same with your desktop - unless you have a really really bad notebook with a grasshopper flapping it's wings in place of a heatsync (Also reffered to as the Dell CPi by laptop boffins)
