Getting rid of Lenovo logo from google IE toolbar

I really like the google toolbar for IE. Glad to see X60 came with it... but HATED that stupid "Lenovo" logo filling up a huge chunk of space on the bar. Seriously, with only 1024x768 you'd think they could go with an "L", instead of a massive, L-E-N-O-V-O sucking up a huge chunk of real-estate.

I was really [censored] off to find even if you uninstall the toolbar, and install the one from google that the logo is STILL there. Anyhow, to get rid of the toolbar...

- Add / remove programs to uninstall the Google toolbar
- Browse to the folder C:\Program Files\Google\Toolbar
- Rename all DLL files you see to something else (ie, *.DLL.BAK)
- Download and install the toolbar from Google

Viola. No more logo.

Thanks!

I hated that branding too!
Tried what you wrote, worked like a charm.
I also installed I.E. # 7. ( an upcoming part of Vista)
It's quicker, has more features, and the tool bar is smaller and takes up less space than I.E. # 6. (which helps on such a small screen.)
Even though it's in Beta 2, I have not had any problems with it.

Thanks again, Nick.
