HI!
I want to port the Hiren'S Boot CD to pendrive. This would be a very useful tool on the pendrive. Unfortunately I cannot find a suitable boot floppy for X60. I want to boot from the pendrive, but when I load the Emm386.exe the system freeze. (maybe I have wrong version..., without the emm386 I can boot from the pendrive)
Do you have any usable bootdisk which has emm386.exe loaded and the x60 can be booted from it? Did you try to boot the X60 from floppy (into DOS environment)?
Thanks in advance,

I did my mine with the HP USB boot utility that's quite popular on the net (google for it). After formating my flash (actually an ipod

i used acronis disk director & true image to generate the boot application directly on the newly formated flash. It worked like a charm.

I have the HP utility and managed to make a working copy of Hiren's bootcd 8.0 on my cruzer micro.
Which versions did you use? Home, workstation, server?
They are in one pendrive or.....
Which file system did you use? Fat/Fat32?
Can you send me the image?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I can give you the hiren.....

Am I understanding your post correctly, that you need to be able to boot to DOS?
If so, try using
NTFS4DOS. I just used it to help Dsigma6 get into DOS to run the no-1802.com file for his wireless card.

You dont understand me....
I can run dos environment on my x60 and managed to make a working copy of Hiren's Bootcd on my pendrive. The only proble is that emm386.exe is not workin on the x60. Maybe I dont know the exact settings, maybe it cant be running on core duo. So I removed all the emm386 using applications from the hiren (antivirus, mini windows98...)
Do you know any bootdisk that use emm386 and run on x60?

I used acronis true image server 9.1 & disk director 10.0. With both installed in your machine, in any of them go to (if I remember correctly) Tools / make rescue CD, and it will give you the option to add both trueImage & diskDirector & boot selector; then save directly to the usb disk.
with the hp tool i just formated to fat32 with all default options; i did not attempt to make it bootable with it; acronis did the job.
