I have noticed that it runs warmer on AC power. These are my TPFancontrol readings:
CPU 43°C (0x78)
APS 48°C (0x79)
GPU 41°C (0x7b)
BAT 33°C (0x7c)
BAT 31°C (0x7e)
BUS 41°C (0xc0)
PCI 38°C (0xc1)
I read that your computer runs cooler than this. What is your current AC power set up? I.e., dynamic switching, etc.
Thanks again...
Because I was curious, as there has been so much discussed on this forum about temps, I decided to do some very specific measuring of the temps on the other X60 / X60s machines in my office. I supply (my company) the ThinkPads to the employees based on their needs. So we have T series and X series in the organization. Currently we now have a quantity of 16, X60 series deployed.
I checked 10 of them and the results were well within an acceptable range. As it so happens mine is the coolest, however the average of the test group display temps in the same range as your computer. So I would not be concerned.
From my perspective the X60 is the pinnacle of miniaturization and functionaliy. Considering that it's normal for the computer to generate heat that must be dissipated, I personally do not mind feeling some heat from the computers case. Also when we take into consideration just how small this machine is, I think heat management has been very effectively addressed by the engineers.
Finally before deploying the X60's , we were using the X4xx series with great success and long term reliability. Not a single failure, a remarkable statistic.
