X60 Wattage

I need to get an inverter and need to know how many watts of power the X60 draws? Have looked on the unit itself as well as on the Levono website, but cannot find this information. Thanks.

The AC adapter is rated to draw 65W...one would assume that's the max the machine will pull.

I agree with the 65W max comment . If you want more info, you can go into the power manager when you are on battery and it will tell you the real-time power draw. If you disable all the battery power-saving options and run some photoshop filters, that should tell you the real-world max. Remember that if you are charging the battery, it will be even higher.

Then why do they sell a 90W on the accessories page? Needed with the X6? Needed to overload an airline 110V plug?

I don't own an X60, but I have owned X models before. The ones I used came with a small AC adapter, and you can be pretty sure that the computer will not draw more current that the supplied adapter is capable of. But additional adapters have always been larger (go figure), and just for the X's so far as I know.
The A's and T's I have used come with the ubiqitous 72 watt 16 volt adapter at purchase and as an accessory adapter afterward. ... JD Hurst

I bought an extra AC adapter for the X60s and these days it is identical to the adapter the comes with the machine.
As for the 90W...I'd have to imagine that this is used for their entire line of notebooks, but maybe I'm wrong. So they go with the largest power draw they need.

I've heard that certain models of the T60 require a 90W power supply during full power-draw. I wouldn't be surprised if the X60, when plugged into the dock and powering USB devices, burning a DVD, playing a powerful game, and charging it's depleted batteries may require more than 60W.
Also, you have to be weary of the inverter specs... I don't know if the 60w adapter is peak or average, but most inverters list the peak capacity. My recommendation is to get a powerful inverter so you have more flexibility with OTHER devices you may want to power someday. Double check the fuse on your car's power outlet though to find the maximim outlet draw.
