There are a few 12.1" ultraportable notebook PC's to be available shortly, I guess it is becoming a popular size. A couple of which are the Acer Ferarri 1000 some of the specs are:
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2
12.1" glossy widescreen
Graphics: ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 chipset supporting up to 512MB Hypermemory
Built-in webcam
Acer InviLik 802.11 a/b/g wireless
Bluetooth 2.0
Weight: 3.75lbs
and the Dell XPS M1210, here is a thread with pics:

Just thought I'd post this to let folks compare them to the X60/X60s.

If that Fujitsu had a Core Duo option I'd get it in a flash.

Ugh, if only Lenovo woke up and made a higher resolution X60s...

Please!

I wouldn't. Currently there is very little software available that can use the extra core. I admit that this notebook looks very nice and has a lot of features, but it has slow 4200 RPM hard disk and limited amount of memory that are not upgradeable. I'm definitely going for thinkpad :)

Interesting picture. You can only see the corner of the laptop. If that is all that is available, I'll stick with X60s :)

The Lenovo V100 ... nice and small .. AND it includes an optical in the design. I've been playing with one for about a month now and I'm really liking it.

I don't think that new Lenovo is in the same league as the X60: '4lbs with 1.25" thickenss' is not 2.5 o5 3 lbs. with .8" thickenss (at the thinnest side).

It is more of a T4x type...

Honestly no.

Is it a little thicker? Yes. A little heavier? Certainly. However it's very close to the same spec when you add up having to carry that optical around with you. Not to mention the additional bells and whistle features (and most of all the lower price).

Don't get me wrong I love my X60, but the V100 has the higher res, the optical built in and a bunch of other features (mine has built in webcam) that make me use it more often than the X60.

Interesting.

You are right, though, if you add the X6 thingy then yes you get more for your money with the V100.

It is too thick and heavy for my taste, regardless of how much more whistles is has (screen and DVD drive).

I wish my X60 was ligher and thinner :D Maybe the X70...

I know what you mean. The problem with my X60s is not so much the weight as it's only 2.7 lbs. The real problem is when I arrive at my office, take it out of my briefcase and hold it up to the light, it's so thick I cannot see through it. The bloody thing blocks the light.... :?

But then again, so does my briefcase... :P
