Rescue and Recovery

I've had a T40p for a couple of years, and I have never used the rescue and recovery.

I understand that it makes back ups of the entire drive. My question is how much space does it actually use?

I have a 60 GB but I'm already at around 30 GB free...Where does the space go, eh?

From what I can tell, R&R does make backups of the drive, so if you are already using half the space, you will be full after the backup. However, if you are one of those people that only use a few GB, R&R provides an ideal way to keep a history of old states. Plus, each successive restore point should be smaller since it theoretically only has to store the changes. Finally, you could change the backup destination to an external USB or network drive. This is the best option in my mind, because a single HD failure won't wipe you out.
