hi!
which one of the above mentioned notebooks shall i consider to buy?
i know this is the wrong place to ask for another notebooks than ibm ones, but i would like some comments on the other nb's.
i need a very handsome (not bigger than 12 inch display), leightweigth notebook with long duration power. if it goes 5-6 hours without powersupply, will be great. with the big battery all three mentioned go beyond 10hours.
at the moment I prefer the toshiba because of its integrated dvd+- recorder.
what do you mean?
is there even any other notebook, I should consider?
regards,
KITT

I have been using ThinkPads for a long time, and yet I have also owned other brands. Many of them. My experience reveals that nothing compares to a ThinkPad. Especially in the category we are talking about here.
I have esperience with many Sony, Dell, HP, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Sharp & Panasonic and none of these even come close to the ThinkPad X series.
Here is why the X60 or X60s is superior:
( ) Full size keyboard with full size keystroke of 2.5mm. I spend a lot of time on the computer. I have tried the others in this class and the keyboards are very poor.
( ) The magnesium alloy case of the ThinkPad provides a very rigid sturdy durable case.
( ) I have all three sizes of batteries and the run time is fantastic.
( ) The majority of corporations here in the USA use the X series because of their reliability and long life.
( ) They are fully functional, no limitations.
( ) The X60s with slim battery is only 2.6 lbs. I weighed mine.
( ) I use the external IBM/Lenovo USB optical drive. It's light and comes with a case for travel.
( ) I prefer that it does not have a built in optical drive, as that adds weight and size to the computer.
( ) Tech support is the best compared to the other brands.
( ) A very bright and clear display.
I want the smallest, lightest, ultraportable with long battery life for travel. I have found that in my new X60s
