eeprom after reboot

In an attempt to restore a disk image file stored in an USB hard drive using Acronis 9, after rebooting, the following message appeared:
"e1000: 0000:02:00.0: e1000_probe: The EEPROM Checksum Is Not Valid"
I have since done a factory reinstall and have no further need for this disk image. But in the future, I might need to perform a similar operation. I have BIOS 1.06.
Any idea what was the issue?
Thanks for any thoughts.

Acronis is a Linux applicatin and uses a Linux core to run on and to do the images. Not all the drivers are optimized for the latest hardware. Great example is the e1000 and AHCI driver support (or lack thereof ).

I would not worry about it, just ignore if the image was created and you can successfully perform a verify.
