Intermitent wireless

#1 Post by pan » Mon Jun 12, 2006 12:48 pm

I received my x60s two weeks ago. Since I received the system the wireless would disconnect every twenty to thirty minutes. I have talked with IBM support and have turned off wireless zero and standardized using the Thinkvantage Access Connections. Installed all the latest drivers and software. Short of replacing the wireless card are there any other things to look at or change?

thanks

Try the reverse: Uninstall Access Connections and turn on Wireless Zero! You can always re-install AC if you want to later.
Test and post again...

Lenovo will ship a replacement card as soon as they are in stock. As an aside after I posted the message above I ran into another thread from someone who had just received a x60s whose wireless was not working. The solution was to flip the switch on the front of the computer. I thought to myself this maybe an improper connection at the switch as if the switch was not completely on.

I activated the switch a number of times and set it to on. The wireless has been up all day. We'll see how it holds up over the next few days.

Had a problem of intermittent disconnects. After uninstalling WLAN card in device manager and reinstalling everything is working perfectly now.
Strange.
