"Display Boot Device: BOTH" Issues

#1 Post by studentism » Wed Jul 05, 2006 8:50 pm

Hi,

I'm new here. Tried searching the subforum to see if this was already posted but didn't find anything. Has anyone successfully gotten this BIOS setting to work? Choosing that doesn't display on both, but rather just on the attached monitor. I'm trying to configure DualHead/Xinerama in Linux, and it's a bit of a pain. The output of Xorg.0.log shows that only the display selected at boot is detected during Xorg start, so this seems to be the root of the problem (not to mention the fact that there's no explicit support for the 945GM chipset in Xorg as of 6.9.0; haven't tried 7.1.0, but I patched the source to be able to use the i810 driver).

In any case, if anyone has gotten this to work, please let me know. Otherwise, this sounds like an issue that I might have to bring to IBM's attention.

Thanks,
studentism
