I ordered a Transcend 1GB PC2-5300 667 MHz SODIMM for my X60s (17044JU) last week. This was the spec given in the "ThinkPad Personal Systems Reference" (aka "Tabook").
This evening, I went to install the Transcend memory but found that the Lenovo-installed memory is an "Elpida 512MB SODIMM PC2-5300-555", which I take to be a 555 MHz SODIMM. Shouldn't this be a 667 MHz SODIMM, or am I misreading the label on the SODIMM, or tabook?
For the moment, I've removed the latter and installed the Transcend memory, which is working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

X60s memory supplied by Lenovo and Transcend upgrade
Foodle, thanks for your information and explanation.
@RT, I haven't noticed any increase in heat dissipation from the Transcend memory relative to the Elpidia variety supplied by Lenovo. FWIW, I installed this variety:
Transcend JetRam 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory Model JM488Q643A-6.
Newegg's current cost is $79.99, less a $10 rebate. There is another variety available for $99.99 with no rebate, but after looking at Transcend's website wasn't abe to discern any appreciable difference between the two varieties. I hope this helps.
