insufficient resources

I have an x60S with 2GB of RAM. On occasion when I shut the lid to put the computer to sleep I get a failure to go to sleep. There is a dialogue box with "Insufficient resources to complete the API". The only open applications are Outlook and IE open. I use Zone Alarm for virus and firewall. Beyond that I have the typical accessories running in the system tray.
Any suggestions to make sure the computer goes to sleep?

I had some problems with sleep/hibernate using my software firewall and XP's built-in crapwall. You might go into services.msc and disable anything to do with the Windows firewall...that solved my sleep/hibernate problem (it wouldn't go into sleep but would lockup somewhere between the screen shutting off and entering sleep/hibernate state). You can't just shut it down at the control panel level...it still sits there, running in the background.

Are you running your own OS without SP2? I seem to remember that there was a similar issue that occured when you had 2gb of RAM or over that was fixed by a hotfix - that was ages ago though so i'm not sure what it was but I would have thought it should be included in SP2

There is a hotfix for the problem. You have to call 1-800-MICROSOFT to get it. It fixed my problem. I don't have the exact hotfix number with me though, but google the exact error message and you'll find it
