fresh installation of windows 2000?

I've successfully installed windows xp to my x60. But what I really like is still windows 2000. I tried many times with no success: only blue screen after loading installation files.
I've changed SATA setting from AHCI to Compatibility. This made the xp installation working but not good enough(?) for win2k.
Do I still need a storage drive update? Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
By the way, anyone successfully installed win2k on x60?

Yes, me (on an X60s, but I don't think it should make a difference). I'm almost ready with it: everything is working fine, including wi-fi, Bluetooth, audio etc., but I still have one "PCI device" (listed under "Other devices") with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. I've been asking help about it in this
thread. However, I did not install W2K onto the original HDD: instead, I used a new, unformatted HDD and I kept the original drive with XP and the other factory stuff. Like you, I had to switch from AHCI to Compatibility mode in BIOS, but once I did that I could install (from the multiburner drive in the Ultrabase X6) with no problem.

This is solved, see this
thread (the other device was the "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller", listed under "Secure Digital host controllers" in Device manager). But SpeedStep appears not to be working on CoreDuo with W2K, which is really sad
