Problem (Paranoia, Stupid Question?) with new x60s

#1 Post by mitzi » Fri Aug 04, 2006 11:25 am

I just got my new x60s last week and so far I love it. Because it's the first computer I've ever paid for maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid, but... right when I turn it on as everything is gearing up, there's a split second where the screen goes black... then it continues and everything is fine.

Any ideas? Should I worry at all?

Thanks in advance!

welcome to the thinkpad owners club and no, you should have no worries about the display going dark for a second or two during boot up.. :)

@mitzi: Welcome to this GREAT thinkpad forum. :D

Relax... Nothing to worry about this. My X60 also behaves like yours. So far, i had been using it for all kinds of stuffs and it just works fine. Nothing is wrong. :-)

Same here. It happens right after logging on to Windows, when the desktop appears.

Just normal. It has something to do with the loading of graphics drivers ....

Ditto! It even occurs on an X40, if you need even more consolation!

Just relax and enjoy your thinkpad. :)

Greetings and welcome to the forum!

My new X60s does the same thing exactly, as do my other ThinkPads (see below...I'm quite the (sic) ThinkPad user.. ..)

So, not to worry. Just enjoy your wonderful new ThinkPad! It will serve you well for a very long time and I'm sure you will find it the best choice you could make when it comes to a new notebook computer... :D

And U can still go to msconfig and remove the loading of the Intel Graphics Drivers :)
