air compressor... cleans everything. I also blow the air through vent holes and pcmcia compartment... you can't imagine how much dust there is "inside" the computer.
X300... own
X61 Tablet... sold
X60s... sold
T60p... sold

I use a microfiber towel moistened with warm water which cleans the display very nicely with no chance of harming it. Then I use it on the keyboard and case.
For leaning out around the keyboard etc. I use the can of compressed air that is sold for cleaning cameras, and other sensitive equipment.
Finally, I do not eat or keep drinks near the computer which saves me from spilling or dropping crumbs into the keyboard or other areas.

Mind you, the majority of electronic equipment sill survive getting submerged as long as it is OFF when you do so. (And by that I mean no batterys in there, nothing). However I seriously don't advice doing it unless you really do know what you are doing. ;D

You might want to be careful with the water you use. If your water supply has significant amount of minerals, those will be deposited on your screen/laptop when the water evaporates. Some people use distilled water to avoid deposits or a 50/50 solution of distillled water mixed with Isopropyl alcohol (rubbbing alcohol). Most office supply stores will sell you a cleaning fluid for LCDs that sometimes includes polymers of some sort that are supposedly better. Who knows.

For the LCD, I use a microfiber cloth and some sort of alcohol solution made for LCDs. After that, I clean the notebook cover and keyboard the same way.
