After reading the many posts about heat issues, I'm not too sure I want to keep it, as I don't enjoy my right palm being scalded. It's incredible Lenovo would implement such poor design and then not correct it. Hopefully all will work well...

I ordered my X60t on Friday, 5/11. It had an expected ship date of 5/31. I got it exactly 1 week later (5/18), well ahead of schedule. Even the hangup in KY was brief.

I ordered my X60t on Friday the 25th - it is a CTO unit.
It was just shipped today, the 30th.
Estimated ship date was June 8th, so I'm happy.

Update: It arrived yesterday, June 1st. Two days from China, and no customs delays!

I just ordered an X61T on Friday, June 1st. Expected ship date is July 4.

Has anyone else ordered an X61T ( or any X61 I suppose) and looked at the expected ship data?

ROG do you have a link to where NewEgg sells 2gb single sticks for the X6x's? I looked high and low and could not find them, only the regular 2x1gb sticks...Thanks

I used the New Egg ram configurator and those options did not show up as "compatible" with teh X6X's.... If they will work I will pick up a couple sticks just want to make sure...

It looked like at least one of the brands worked with a T60 (based on a review). They're all 200 pin DDR2 PC5300 RAM. If you use two of the same size and brand (if that's what you're doing), it should work. If you mix brands and sizes, you may run into compatibility issues.

I think any should work, assuming people who bought that RAM wrote in with decent reviews. I plan on buying 2 of them to work together. As mentioned, the odds of the RAM working goes down if you mix and match vendors and/or sizes.

Update: I noticed they actually are shipping my tablet with 32 bit Vista since I only ordered 1 gb of RAM with my machine. I'm going to call sales tomorrow and ask if they will instead install 64bit Vista. Otherwise, getting 4 GB of RAM is kind of pointless. I suggest others looking to buy 4 GB of RAM from a 3rd party, call Lenovo to switch their OS before it ships.

smoothoperator: No go on the switch. The 64-bit Vista is not an option at all, either before ordering on the web/phone, or after your order is placed. I'm assuming Lenovo is still working on the drivers, compatibility, etc. (Or at least I hope so, I really want to run 64-bit Vista in a few months.)

Rog: are you still going to go with the 4gig upgrade? As it stands now I only have 512, so I am weighing my options if I should get the full 4 gig upgrade now and then wait for the X61 to support vistax64 or just pick up a single 2gig chip and then get an additional later on.....One other thing is the 800mhz bus I would hate to pick up the slower memory now and then see the 800mhz memory hit the shelves and have to rebuy both chips again.

smoothoperator: My tablet won't arrive until July sometime, so I'm probably going to buy 4 GB of whatever RAM is available at that time. If 800 Mhz hasn't hit yet (or is much more expensive), then I will just buy 667. I figure I'll just run with 3.2 GB, or whatever Vista ends up giving me, and then at a later date, when all the drivers are available, update to Vista 64-bit.

I'm guessing that the speed difference between memory running at 667 vs 800 is pretty negligible. I'm going to check out some benchmarks just to be sure, but I don't think it will be much different for regular computer use.

i placed an order on 06/01/07 for a x61 with and estimated ship date of 06/20/07. but today i saw there was an option for an intel t7500 2.2GHZ processor. so i canceled the previous order and placed a new one with the t7500 and an estimated ship date of 06/22/07. only two day delay, not bad.

This was ordered through the University, who ordered through a distributor, so I don't have an email from Lenovo. I will edit if I get better info.

This is L7500, 1G memory+1G extra (yeah, I know, lenovo overcharges for memory.) 120G harddisk. Intel 4965AGN,

Congratulations again! But don't get too surprised since it is a pretty standard practice of Lenovo: I have bought more than 10 systems in the past two years and they always ship two-days even if I always selected ground every time. There were no ground shipping from HK/SH anyways.
