An 8/2 ship date for me would also make it more than two months from my order on 5/31. I certainly will demands some sort of compensation for this delay.

And as many have said, it is not just the delay that is problem. It is the lack of any sort of reliable information out of Lenovo, as well the difficulty in contacting them.

Oh lord...cancel it. Maybe it'll arrive sooner :S

7/20 has come and gone. The new date is 8/8. That would be two months and three days from my order.

I also ordered my X61s ultralight on 5/31... been advised that it's not even close to shipping...

I am stuck with a turd of a computer (HP NC6400) at work, not enthused.

I guess the holdup is the screen and the WWAN card...

reasons:
my X40 fried, I have to get something to cover it and pretend to parents nothing happened
leaving for 2 months and cant get it on Aug 3
for 2 months, i will be sitting on my [censored] all day staring at a wall if I dont get it (totally better to sit on my [censored] staring at a BSOD and listening to the Cure)

anyways:
ordered july 9
X6x battery: shipped 11, arived 14
X61s: to be shipped 26
(if they screw up I will be VERY [censored] and file complaints with IBM, who still seem to have a little power over the thinkpad line, due to IBM does all the repairs/support; i once had a battery that didnt work, lenovo [censored] me, i complained to IBM, alls well, fresh 8-cell, and a free 4 on the side (I'm also like wtf at that))
anyways good luck to us all

That's funny..I ordered on June 6th and I have the same ESD as you, 7-26-07.

Just wanted to give some hope to everyone who has ordered an X61. I ordered mine on 7/6, EST 7/25, actual ship date was 7/23 (today). They made it with 2 days to spare!

I'm thinking you didn't get SXGA+... My order date was 7/4 with an ESD of 8/6, no updates so far, all the accessories and a ultrabase I ordered much later arrived within days of the order...

I have just noticed the first change in my order status page... It has gone from a complete list of parts etc. to just this:

1 7764CT CONFIGURED SYSTEM
08/03/07

Does that mean it is configured and ready to ship... or have they lost my order... I'm just glad something happened with that page... been checking it everyday...

I've been watching my order status as well since I ordered on june 20, but no changes here on the status.

I have almost 2 months lag listed on the date spread!!!!!

And they told me it was wrong when I asked about it, and they explained it would be 2-3 weeks.

It's now been 5 weeks, and many of yours with similar configs have had much shorter spans, ordered after me, and already shipped.

What gives?

Same thing shows on my order status page. It started last night, so I started to get a little excited that this thing might actually ship.

Either that or there is a major order meltdown at Lenovo that blew out all of the configurations. Given our experience with Lenovo, this wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I don't think it's a meltdown there, 'cause my order remains as it's been since June 20.

You're probably no longer 'on order' and shipping info might be the next thing to see. I just wish something would happen with mine too.

So has anyone actually received a non-tablet, 12" XGA ultralight screen?

My ship date slipped from 7/24 to 8/10 and I wonder if that's the culprit. Any takers on whether 8/10 is when the thing will actually ship?..

On the notebookreviews.com forums, many people were reporting the same issue. Not only X series orders, but T's as well.

It may just be Lenovo's poorly designed site.

I ordered my x60 on July 11 and got it on July 20!!! Maybe because I only changed the HD to 100G and leave all others standard..

It was shipped from Shanghai to me.

That's because you ordered a X60 and not a X61. The X60 is in pretty low demand now.

I'm not so sure that is the UltraLight. It would say it on the XGA line. Mine with same processor and UltraLight has a part number of 42X0100.

But it's good to see some of them shipping. Mine hasn't shipped yet, but I'm feeling a little more confident that the end of week ship date I heard from Lenovo may be true after all.

After near a two month wait, my x61s was supposed to ship on 7-26-07 but instead I got an email with the subject line---"Lenovo Order Cancellation Notice - XXXXX

Lenovo scared the hell out of me. I thought Lenovo canceled my order by mistake.

Turns out that Lenovo is not going to meet its ship date, and is required by federal law to verify whether i still want the x61s or whether i want a full refund . I opted to wait it out. My new ship date is 8-14-07.

Order date: 6-6-07

UPDATE: Shipped on 7-27-07! Fnally.

I checked the order status page this morning and saw my x61s with ultralight screen was shipped this morning apparently. I haven't gotten an email yet, and my cc hasn't been charged, but good news.

Well I check my order status today (7/27/07), and it shows shipped too. Yeah! I ordered the X61s lightscreen on 6/1/07. I can't show the configuration anymore, since the status site doesn't show it. I hope everyone else gets theirs soon.

-- I ordered my X61 on 7-17-07 with ESD 8-3-07.
-- Yesterday 7-26-07 I got the email saying it was out for delivery.
-- At 10am this morning (7-27-07) there was a UPS deliverman on my front door!!
-- I checked the tracking info online and i says that it left China on 7-26-07. How bout that for fast delivery.
