Showed up on the order status page, no email received yet.

Mine still shows no shipping or progress, now going on 6 weeks.

The 'speed' of your delivery, Grimm01 is due to the day it is sent from China being a half day ahead of us. So it's not as fast as it seems, but fast in any case. But you probably knew that anyway.

I just wich mine was being made someday, even if it's shipped out slowly. Not fair that most have ordered after me, but already are getting theirs.

yes i know the "fast" delivery has to do with the time zones and all. i should have mention that this is pretty fast compared to the 5 or 6 days it took my previously ordered T61 to get here. the T61 spent a day or so in customs in KY.

btw i was not satisfied with the T61 so i sent it back for the X61.

zomg congrats!!!! At last it's shipped!!!!! hopefully you'll FINALLy be unpacking the laptop that took two months to make lol

My X61s is shipped out today.
Ordered on 7/6/2007, including ultralight screen.

It looks like a big batch of x61s models are being assembled and shipped.

Maybe they got what was needed for the 's' models.

I have this sinking feeling that they've run out of SXGA+ screens for now, and my tablet isn't getting assembled until the next shipment of these screens arrives. And somehow that seems like it might be on a 3-4 week cycle.

Not only does it say that mine shipped but I got a tracking number! They updated it to Express shipping, says that it should be here on Monday.

Looks like our laptops are stuck in Kentucky. Basically its just like what happened to the laptops shipped on July 7th (the parallels and timings are uncanny). With all likleyhood we will get it on friday august 3rd.

Mine's also held in Kentucky and should hopefully arrive on Monday. I'm so excited.

My order was placed on June 3, cancelled by Lenovo on July 20 and is now in Kentucky! It weighs 3.2kg's. Could be the laptop?

I ordered a x61 s with 100GB 7200rpm drive and Ultralight XGA.

I was actually so fed up I accepted the cancellation without great remorse. It said that unless i contacted them within 5 days the order would be cancelled. I did not cancel.

I downloaded all the XP drivers from the driver matrix site. I have a slipstreamed XP Pro disc with all updates & SATA drivers ready to go. Now someone just needs to put my x61s on a plane from Kentucky to Los Angeles.

When did it arrive in KY?

I ordered an x61 on 7/20 and recieved an ESD of 08/08/07. After reading all the horrors of ordering through Lenovo I searched around and found a better priced similarly configured unit from some else. I order it and sent an e-mail out to cancel my Lenovo order.

The next day both units shipped. I don't want to pay the 15% restocking fee for lenovo. Has anyone else had this happen? Was Lenovo willing to waive the restocking fee? How long did a refund take? I'm a student and don't have the money to cover both of them for an extended period of time

Just don't open them. If you open them then you will make getting a 100% refund much more difficult. After they arrive, call Lenovo and tell them the situation. In most instances they will even pay for the return shipping.

Thanks! That's perfect. I only intend to open the one I want to keep (ordered from Euclid), I'll leave the lenovo one sealed up and give them a call. I was worried I'd have to fight them or pay shipping and the 15% restocking fee.

Don't blame DNS, blame Lenovo! They seem to send out shipment notices AFTER you have already received it. I mean, why would they send it when it ships? That would be the normal thing to do.

Just like everyone else, I'm getting the same message from UPS about it being stuck in KY. Still shows the package as being on time though.

As a side note, I just read that Lenovo is building a facility in Mexico to manufacture laptops explicitly with the intention of serving the US market better. That should help.

For everyone expecting their X61s today 7/30/07, I just got off the phone with UPS. The delivery date of today posted on the UPS website is NOT accurate. She said that barring a customs holdup, the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) before 10:30. Oh well, I was really excited too.

I knew something was going on when my tracking status wouldn't update.

Edit: I just gave UPS a call and they told me my package is still in Louisville even though the delivery date says 7/30. The CSR said that it should arrive tomorrow if it is cleared by customs.

aw I got excited too. I figured the "Import Scan" update and change from "Exception" to "In transit - On time" from yesterday meant it left KY and would actually make it today.

So many words, so many contradictions! Oh well. Hopefully tomorrow

I'm in the same boat. Now shows a reschedule for 7/31. Well, I've waited nearly two months now, so waiting an extra day won't kill me. And I can no longer blame Lenovo (unless of course I contend that they should build them in the US, and would not need to pass through customs, but I digress...)

Do we really think we'll get it on 7/31? It's still sitting in KY and it's 8:00P local time.

you guys are all lucky cause you ordered x61s models. Those of us who ordered the tablets with sxga+ screens are waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

They made a whole batch of those x61s' last week, but there's no rumbling at all about any deliveries for the sxga+ tablets.

They told me mine would be made the week of 23 July (edited: August), then at the end of last week, they said it would be made by the end of July (edited: August). So I guess that it leaves tomorrow as the only day left to make mine.

What do you bet they won't send me a delivery notice about it tomorrow, or the next day, or any day this week?

Do I sound like I have an attitude about it?

Did you mean to say July instead of August?!?!

I ordered the exact same machine as yours on June 19. They gave me an original ESD of July 20. When July 20 came and went, they updated the ESD to August 21. SO, even though you ordered a day later, your ESD is now a week better than mine! What sense does that make?

Honestly, I think the folks at Lenovo are quite confused.
They look very bad at the moment.
