Now it's telling me it's experienced an internal exception, wtf is that supposed to mean!! IT better get here tomorrow, or UPS gets it...

ok so I just got off the phone with a rather nice UPS woman.

She says that even though it appeared that it had cleared customs... it has not.

She tells me that Lenovo sent such a large order this time that (with their screwed up paperwork on top of it) they have to clear the shipment in pieces... of course not knowing which orders will end up in which piece all she could tell me is what I already knew... my guaranteed delivery of 10:30 am this morning will not be met... oh yeah and there is no estimate for when the status will change.

oh yeah... and as far as that went... my fingers are no longer crossed... but a certain one of them is stuck up and waving in the direction of Louisville.

At this point I think any sign of change in the status is a good sign.

To put it all into perspective though I did a few searches on google for that status (its the same status and time for me so I assume we are in the same bundle) and lenovo...

I found examples of people who got "BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE" and then had their lenovo orders the next day... unfortunately also found some that took as long as 10 more days to get delivered.

I guess there is always hope... Im just sad Ive waited so long and STILL have to keep waiting.

I mean... we all know that they will get to us... but im really bored with looking at my extended batteries and external charger and the stuff I have received since its worthless without the actual laptop

Good luck to all who are waiting on the Louisville Customs Agents to give us our new thinkpads.

My shipment, shipped on the same day, is waiting in the Ontario, California customs house as well.

I'm hoping that since so much traffic goes though Los Angeles daily my package will move quickly.

But it's not just the Kentucky package that's stuck!

hm, I guess we are all in the same bundle, I hope we get our laptops tomorrow, the X30 is not doing it for me, I need more battery life.

I doubt we will get it tomorrow. Or, I doubt I will get it tomorrow. Even if the customs office receives the paperwork in the morning (it is daytime in China now, so it's possible) the package won't be loaded onto the UPS truck until midday (or late morning) and it will then go to a processing center, then witch trucks to be shipped to the local routing center. By the time it get here it will be evening. No trucks will be going out. It will go out the following morning (Friday).

I live in Orange County, south of LA. When I order ground shipping from NewEgg (by UPS) and the part ships out of NewEgg's LA warehouse I get next day delivery. Order in the morning, the package gets processed and packed, it makes its way out the door around 6pm and finds it's way to my local routing center. In the morning it's on the truck and I see it around midday (depending on how busy it is).

So, since the package is still sitting in the customs office, I doubt we'll see our laptops until Friday at the earliest. Hopefully Lenovo has those papers ready first thing in the morning.

Maybe they work overnight??

I just noticed this. The status changed to "import scan." I know that the system always lags behind real-time events - but dang! Maybe it will be on the truck tonight? I kind of doubt it, but I'm sure we're all like little kids on Christmas eve right now

Also, with the change of the import scan, the delivery date changed from nothing to 8/30. Perhaps it really will come tomorrow despite my logic in the above post? Shouldn't get excited so I don't feel disappointed tomorrow when I come home from work.

Looks like I am getting it today. Next step, buy a 24" LCD.

This is one great little laptop... yeah the wait sucked but apparently was worth it

Ok... gotta get back to setting up (read: playing with) my new x61s

Mine was delivered at 10am. I had to wait till I got home from work to see her. Boy she's tinier than I thought. The fan noise also seems to be as quiet as I was hoping - but I reserve the real judgment until I've used the machine for longer.

(This Lenovo Vista initial start-up, set-up, sign-in stuff is a lot longer than the Lenovo XP version was).

I noticed that too... but I think its just a "new machine Vista" thing rather than a Leovo thing...

This is my furst experience with Lenovo/Vista.. but I believe it will get better and think its Vista's Fault its not so good so far...

Someone ordered theirs on here 3 days before me got theirs in the last wave.

I am pretty sure I am going to get delayed.

Its an X61s by the way.

Ordered mine on 7/31, with an ESD of 9/01, and it was RIGHT on time. Tracking information has yet to register in the UPS database, but I do have the number itself. Oh and I ordered the SXGA+ X61 tablet notebook.

With all the chat about customs, I'm wondering if anyone has had their computer show up after being opened.

I ordered my X61t with SXGA+ on July the 29th and have no esd yet becaus I had tu purchase it at a reseller ... but then sxga+ screen werent avaible anymore... so I am really curious if it will ever arrive at my place


omg !!!! mien finally shipped hopefully i won't get the screen coming unglued from bezel issue

This sucks considering I missed the last batch out by 3 days or less.



I wonder what the bottleneck is in the production line keeping them from pumping them out faster.

Edit: I guess I shouldn't have been so optimistic. My shipment has been stuck in Louisville KY since Sunday. Current status from UPS is: "WAREHOUSE ENTRY CLEARANCE DETAILS, NECESSARY FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE, HAVE BEEN REQUESTED FROM THE RECEIVER". The rescheduled delivery date is 9/12, but at this point I won't believe it till I see it.
